| The site's store front loaded
with no problems, in adequate time. It display fine in 800x600 -- no horizontal
scrolling needed. Good job! The colors are coordinated: the selected font color
(dark purple) is easy to read on the pale yellow background. Good tips and guidance
throughout the site, including the ordering process, even providing links for outside help
on wording. Nice touch!
USABILITY
In the category
----------------
Upon selecting a category (Birth/Adoption, for example), I
attempted to select one of the cards, then, another, but they are not linked. "Where
are the options?" I wondered. Clicked "Wording Samples" under "Design
Help" and hoped options would be there. too. Since I've ordered many times on-line, I
thought reading "Order Help" wasn't necessary, besides, I wasn't ready to order,
yet.
>> Suggestion: Change the "Order Help" to
"Card Options" or something similar.
The quantity ranges are underlined, but are not links.
However, other underlined texts at this site are links.
>> Suggestion: Use another grouping method. Perhaps, bracketing. [51-75]
In Card Options and Attributes
------------------------------
Above the options it says "Attributes in bold are
required." but, only "COLOR" and "FREE" actually appear bold.
>> Suggestion: remove this text
They might indicate that clicking on an underlined
attribute, such as "Select Photo Layout" will display samples in a pop-up
window.
Selecting Options is a long process, with over 20 and more
than half with a pop-window. (This area is not confusing, just long.)
>> Suggestion: See if there is a module that will allow let the customer select the
option in the pop-up window.
What is word limit for the "Enter Wording"
option?
Upload Picture for card: what format? resolution? size?
>> Suggestion: add a pop-up window for these instructions.
At the bottom of the Options page, it says "Click
Continue to enter shipping and billing information and complete checkout process"
however, after a summary of the options, the customer actually has the option to continue
shopping.
>> Suggestion: change the text to indicate clicking
Continue will summarize the selected options and provide an opportunity to change them.
Basket Contents
----------------
Although, I looked for it, I had not noticed the Shopping
Basket -- under the category tree. Consider swapping the "Tell a Friend" and
Basket contents positions. Or, move it up to the top/right corner (under the nav bar).
Children category
-----------------
Contains broken images.
Wedding Category
----------------
The first image is actually for a birth announcement &
loads a category unrelated to weddings.
The 2nd category (Cherub Announcement?) contains wedding
pics and info., but the title seems to be about a birth/adoption. And, contains a broken
image link (the last image.)
Engagement
-----------
The first image is actually for a birth announcement &
loads a category unrelated to engagements.
Navigation
-----------
The top menu has 9 items. Quite a few for a top-of-the-page
menu, which can confuse the shopper. (Different from the category lists that have &
are expected to have many, items).
>> Suggestion: Limit the top menu to those that are
necessary to navigate your store and vital information: Home : Pricing : Order Login :
Checkout
Then to differentiate the other menu items, consider using text links for How to Order,
Help, About Us, Contact Us, and Web View, perhaps placing them below the store navigation
menu, below the category tree, or in the global footer. (Also think about combining
"How to Order" and "Help.")
It's not clear to me (so, perhaps to others, as well) what
the "Web View" is, and how it's used.
>> Suggestion: place some information about this
section in the header.
Above the Nav menu: "Custom Photo Announcements
Invitations Cards Stationery and Gifts..." all unexpectedly go to the Weddings
category.
Invitation Haven logo unexpectedly goes to the Birth and
Adoption category (instead of to the Home page)
