Step 6
Clicking on the "Messages" tab will bring up two text boxes. The first,
the "Store Welcome Message", is the 'message' that appears on your storefront
page. This is the first page customers will see when they enter http://YourSite.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv.
This seems like a strange place for it to be located since one would expect it to
be with the "headers and footers" but, in any case, it is not.
You can enter a simple text message like "welcome to
my site" but it is a shame to waste such valuable eyeball real
estate when a few lines of HTML code could make your page something special. It
would be wise to use HTML coding to showcase particular products, or add graphics that
link to certain "departments"/categories. For more on adding HTML to
Merchant click here.
The "Order Completed Thank You" message is fairly
straight forward and is the message your customers will receive after they have completed
the checkout process. If you have any special reminders for your customers, like
printing the invoice, you can do it here.
Step 7
The "Pagination" tab lets you define the number
of products that show, per page, on the product list, and on search result pages. If
you have just a few items in your store, or would like customers to see a complete list of
ALL products in your store when they click on the "Product List" you can choose
not to paginate. However, if you have a lot products we recommend that you display a
reasonable amount of products at one time (a "next" button will allow customers
to see more products) otherwise your customers may have to wait a long time for the page
to load and may decide to go elsewhere.
