Price Groups enable you to charge
different customers different prices. This will help you setup discounts for
wholesalers, members, or friends. Assigned customers must login before they can
access special pricing setup for that group. You can create as many price groups as
you need and have a number of pricing options. If a customer is assigned to more
than one price group, he may get the lowest price, or the highest price based on how you
configure your store settings. For more
information on using price groups click here.
Step 1
| Login to your store from admin. Expand
your store by clicking on the triangular blue arrow. Expand "Price Groups"
by clicking on the triangular blue arrow and you will see an "Add Price Group"
link under it. Click on that and the right frame will show a screen similar to the
one below: |

|

Type in a name for your price group and select the price
you want the customer to receive. You can offer the item at cost provided that you
actually put a value in the cost field of the products you plan to later assign. You
can offer items at the retail price, but it doesn't make much sense to go through the
hassle of creating a price group to offer items at their regular price. You can also
set the price to be a percentage of the cost or the retail price (even over 100%).
After you choose how you want the group to handle the prices, click "Add".
The group will be added and 2 more tabs will appear on the top bar. You will also
notice that the newly created group has a link under "Price Groups" in the left
frame. Clicking on that link in the left frame in the future will allow you to edit
the group.
Step 2
The first tab is "Customers" which will allow you
to selectively assign customers to the price group.

Customers assigned to the group will see the
products with the group's pricing while everyone else will see the retail prices.
Again customers will need to login before they can see the prices. You can use the
"Search" function to locate a customer or a commonality among a group of
customers, such as the domain of their e-mail. This will be particularly useful for
setting a price group discount if you have corporate/group accounts.
Step 3
The second tab is "Products". You can
select the products you want to include in the price group from the list of products in
your store. You can use the "Search" function to locate a product or a
keyword in multiple products aided by the "Assigned" and "Unassigned"
tab.
